Salsa Beginners - L.A. Style (On1)

6 week course (1 hour class - once a week)

 

Salsa Beginner course is designed for:
Absolute beginners who have never danced before or who consider themselves to have 2 left feet.

For people who have taken salsa classes in the past and who are not sure or have forgotten their fundamental steps

For people who want to practice their basic steps

For people going to vacation to Latin American countries and want to have basic knowledge of Latin dancing

 

Everybody is Welcome!

We want everybody to learn and have fun in a friendly atmosphere. 

You will learn:
- Your basic dance step and variations including Cucaracha, Cumbia, Cross Over steps;
- Cross body lead and basic turns including: 
  Spot turn, Traveling turns, Back Spot turn, Inside turn;
- How to connect with your partner; 
- How to find and hear the salsa beat; dance to the beat;
- How to Lead (men)
- How to Follow (women)

Salsa Intermediate Level 1 - L.A. Style (On1)

6 week course (1 hour class - once a week)

 

Important: Beginner Salsa course must be completed.

Please read above description 
Approval from instructors required to take this course.

Salsa has many intermediate patterns. In one course we can teach only few combinations.

That is why, most of the Intermediate Salsa level 1 patterns, we prepare and teach in 6 sets of

Intermediate Salsa level 1 courses. This means that in each new course (each set), you will learn different

intermediate patterns. The same patterns will repeat again after 6 courses are done.

1 set of courses means 6 weeks (1 hour per week) / 6 sets of 6 weeks each.

Once you complete them. Then you can move to Intermediate level 2,
where we teach more complex moves and patterns.

In the Salsa Intermediate Level 1, you will learn:

- New combinations every session
- Reverse turn, Double turns and Free spinning; Combinations with these turns
Cross Body lead variations
Basic, Intermediate patterns and combining those patterns 
More exercises with connection, leading & following your dance partner
How to understand music, counts, syncopations and accents.

Salsa Intermediate Level 2 - L.A. Style (On1)

6 week course (1 hour class - once a week)

Important Requisite:
➡ We recommend to take 6 sets of Salsa Intermediate Level 1 courses (total of 36 weeks),

before taking Salsa intermediate level 2.

Approval from instructors required to take this course.

 

- Ongoing Salsa classes with more challenging patterns, spicy moves & spins.

- Class is for those who are at the Intermediate / Advanced level.

- Salsa has many patterns, combinations, variations.

Bachata Dominicana (Dominican Bachata)

We offer beginner and Intermediate courses of Dominican Bachata.

Dominican Bachata (Bachata Dominicana) originated in the Dominican Republic in the 1960s.
Basic steps were danced in a small square in a closed position. Over the years dance evolved to include
dancing in open position and adding more styling with the feet as well as adding simple turns.
There is no complex turn pattern and figures. The emphasis is on the connection between

musical instruments of bachata music with playful footwork.

In our course we will teach you:
- Basic steps of Bachata Dominicana. 
- How to lead and follow 
- Fun variety of Footwork / Shapes / Breaks
- How to find and hear the beats of Bachata music
- How you can apply variety of steps, to "flow" with the music

Bachata Moderna

We offer beginner and Intermediate courses of Bachata Moderna

Bachata Moderna was developed around 2005.
Many Dominicans living in NYC and USA transformed, a simple basic step of

Dominican Bachata (danced in a square - box shape) to a Side to Side basic

with added turns and dips from salsa which lead to bachata Moderna with

lots of patterns and dips.

In our courses we will teach you:
- Basic Bachata step
- How to find and hear the beats of Bachata music
- How to connect with your partner: Leading & Following
- Variety of Patterns
- Cool Bachata moves!

Cha-cha-cha

6 week course (1 hour class - once a week)
 

This class is Great for beginners (no experience needed),

and excellent source of review for experienced dancers.

You will learn:

- Your basic Cha-cha-cha dance steps and variations 

- How to connect with your partner

- How to find and hear the cha-cha-cha beat; dance to the beat

- Connection: leading & following

- Turns & Patterns

- How to transition Salsa moves to Cha-cha-cha moves

- Variety of Cool Cha-cha-cha moves!

Rueda de Casino (Cuban Rueda)

6 week course (1 hour class - once a week)

Rueda de Casino “Casino Wheel” is a type of circle dance that came from Salsa de Casino in Cuba.
It is improvised, synchronized couples' dance. There is one caller, who calls the moves to the rest of the group,

and with the caller's cue women are passed along the circle from partner to partner.

In the beginner course we will teach you fundamental moves of Rueda,which includes:

Guapea, Dile Que No, Vacilala and Enchufla, followed by many more fun moves.
 

The Course is designed for absolute beginners.

Latin Crash Course: Cumbia & Merengue

In this 6 weeks course we teach you basic elements of Merengue & Cumbia

(3 classes of Cumbia/3 classes of Merengue)

Going for Vacation? Nice!

Wherever you go to Latin America: Cuba, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico,

Dominican Republic, etc; you may hear Cumbia and Merengue music.

We will teach basic steps and turns of these fun and easy dances, so you can blend in!

This course is great for beginners (no experience needed) or anybody

who wants to extend their dance vocabulary.

Merengue (dance from Dominican Republic).
We will teach you:
Basic steps, body movement, how to lead and follow and fun easy patterns

Salsa Shines (Men & Women) - (On1)

You do not need a partner to join this course! 
Anybody who finished the Beginner Salsa course is welcome!
Class is for Men & Women. We will teach you variety, fun salsa footwork,

which you can dance on your own, when your partner lets you go and gives you time to shine!
Join us to expend your Salsa footwork vocabulary!

Men & Lady Styling - (On1)

You do not need a partner to join this course!

Every lady who finished the Beginner Salsa course is welcome! 
In this course we will teach you how to use your basic steps to move with flow,

and how to feel confident with styling your hands. We will be using just variation

of basic steps but we will focus on body motions, shoulder movement, arms, hip movement

and learn a variety of hand styling. We will also teach you techniques of spinning.
This class can help you to boost your confidence and it will be a workout of the whole body!

All these courses are great for people who want to have understanding and moves and experience these
fun Latin dances. Excellent source of dance techniques for beginners and average dancers.
